As the House of Representatives considers the “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021” this week, the bill’s proponents rightly decry pernicious stereotyping and generalizing based on race.
Yet many of those who rightly condemn such dangerous biases, and the lies they are built upon, make misleading claims of their own to advance another reckless bigotry — anti-police bias.
To make the case for their version of police reform, the bill’s advocates are misleading Americans about the over 800,000 law enforcement officers in the United States and their often dangerous work.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate’s only black Republican, Tim Scott, blasted House Democrats over their forthcoming police reform bill, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act (JIPA).
Because last year when Sen. Scott introduced his police reform bill, the JUSTICE Act, Senate Democrats filibustered it despite support from both parties.
Scott said Tuesday, “I am disappointed that the House has decided to vote on a partisan bill in an attempt to fix a non-partisan issue.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has hired Elkan Abramowitz, a high-profile defense lawyer who has represented such clients as Harvey Weinstein and Woody Allen.
Abramowitz confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that he is representing the Executive Chamber in matters pertaining to a Justice Department inquiry of an explosive nursing home scandal.
The Democrat is being investigated on multiple fronts by Attorney General Letitia James.
Cuomo issued an executive order last March forcing nursing homes to take on patients that had tested positive for coronavirus. He didn’t rescind the order for weeks.
When the Justice Department initially inquired, the Cuomo administration intentionally stalled and hid data on nursing home deaths and how they related to his order.

AOC Says Minimum Wage Should Be $24 An Hour As Democrats Having Trouble Passing $15 Hike

As Senate Democrats try to fit a $15 minimum wage hike into the $1.9 trillion dollar COVID relief package, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D‑NY) criticized some Democrats for not supporting Progressive’s demand for the measure.
Saying that opponents of the minimum wage increase were “living in a dystopian capitalist nightmare,” AOC took it a step further on MSNBC.
She stated that, “when you take the minimum wage from several decades ago and you actually account for inflation and productivity gains to today, it should really be $24 an hour.”
She went on to say that Democrats must understand “how deep of a compromise $15 an hour is,” including a multi-year phase in.

“It is deeply, deeply shameful that we are even having this conversation. When you take the minimum …

California’s largest Teachers’ Union, The United Teachers of Los Angeles, described the state’s latest plan to reopen schools as “a recipe for propagating structural racism.”
The proposal by Gov. Gavin Newsom and state Democrats has already been described as a “compromise.”
In the midst of the tussle, Newsom has also come under fire for his state’s strict COVID restrictions, and faces a recall effort.
According to KABC in Los Angeles, under a portion of the new plan, California school districts could receive up to $2 billion in funding if they reopen by March 31.

Medical professionals on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic desperately need reinforcements. That’s why President Biden, in his “American Rescue Plan,” proposes enough funding to triple the number of community health care workers.
But if the administration doesn’t have a clear policy of enforcing longstanding conscience protections for health care providers, it will jeopardize their ability to recruit the talent we need to defeat the coronavirus.
Religious health care providers have a robust and lengthy history of providing quality care to people from all walks of life.
Here at home, they have been on the front lines of the COVID pandemic, serving vulnerable populations such as the homeless and prisoners suffering from HIV, and they care …
