Rocket Lab is developing another booster.The California-based company, which routinely gives small satellites dedicated rides to orbit with its Electron rocket, announced on Monday (March 1) that it’s going to build a new, bigger launcher called Neutron. That same day, Rocket Lab also revealed that it will become publicly traded after a planned merger with Vector Acquisition Corporation, a move that will help fund the Neutron work.The 130-foot-tall (40 meters) Neutron, which is expected to debut in 2024, will be able to launch up to 8 metric tons (17,600 lbs. or 8,000 kilograms) to low Earth orbit.
