AG Barr Considering Resigning by End of Year

Three sources famil­iar with the mat­ter have report­ed­ly told The New York Times that Attor­ney Gen­er­al William Barr is con­sid­er­ing resign­ing from office before the end of the year.Last week, in an inter­view with The Asso­ci­at­ed Press, Barr said, “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effect­ed a dif­fer­ent out­come in the election.”

To say the least, the attor­ney general’s remark sent shock­waves through­out the polit­i­cal world. Democ­rats imme­di­ate­ly pounced on Barr’s com­ment as proof that Pres­i­dent Trump’s claims that wide­spread fraud had occurred in the Novem­ber 3 elec­tion were with­out mer­it. The media went into over­drive telling Amer­i­cans that not even the Depart­ment of Jus­tice or the FBI believed Trump’s allegations.
