The building is reportedly under construction and was seen with smoldering black smoke plumes Thursday morning. The fire was also visible from Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority confirmed the building on fire was the Metro’s future headquarters, which is still under construction, according to CNN.
