Repub­li­cans are itch­ing to look deep­er into alle­ga­tions that Pres­i­dent Joe Biden’s fam­i­ly is using his posi­tion of pow­er to make lucra­tive busi­ness deals with for­eign coun­tries and partners.

But, Repub­li­cans appar­ent­ly wor­ry their options are scant giv­en Democ­rats con­trol both cham­bers of Congress.

“We need to under­stand the extent of the Biden family’s use of its con­nec­tion to the pres­i­dent to enrich itself and any steps being tak­en to mit­i­gate future self-deal­ing,” said a Repub­li­can spokesper­son for the House Over­sight and Reform Committee.

“The biggest thing we can do is just ask these ques­tions,” said Flori­da Rep. Byron Don­alds, who sits on the Over­sight Committee.

“And in some respects, we have to rely on reporters, like your­self, to be able to ask these ques­tions as well and try to do some dig­ging. My hope is that the White House doesn’t just stonewall us with a ‘Come on, man’ state­ment or a weak response by the press sec­re­tary,” Don­alds added.
