Judge Schedules Hearing in High-Profile Georgia Election Case

The judge who Sun­day ordered Geor­gia offi­cials not to wipe or reset vot­ing machines sched­uled the next hear­ing in the case for Friday.

U.S. Dis­trict Judge Tim­o­thy Bat­ten Sr., a George W. Bush appointee, issued three emer­gency orders on Sun­day, ini­tial­ly order­ing offi­cials to hold off on tak­ing action regard­ing the machines, revers­ing him­self, then re-estab­lish­ing the first order.
