Ghislaine Maxwell’s Attorneys Reference Judge’s Slain Son In Attempt To Keep Bail Motion Under Seal

In an odd move, attor­neys for Ghis­laine Maxwell, the alleged madam for Jef­frey Epstein, ref­er­enced the mur­der of New Jer­sey Judge Ester Salas’ son in an attempt to keep the British socialite’s bail motion secret.

The New York Post report­ed that the ref­er­ence was con­tained in a foot­note for Maxwell’s renewed motion for bail.

“Giv­en the sen­si­tive sub­ject mat­ter of this case, the sureties have legit­i­mate fears for their safe­ty if they are pub­licly iden­ti­fied,” wrote Maxwell attor­ney Chris­t­ian Everdell in a motion filed Novem­ber 30 but unsealed Friday.

“As we have all been recent­ly remind­ed with the trag­ic case of the death of Judge Esther Salas’s son, there are peo­ple who are capa­ble of com­mit­ting hor­ri­ble acts of vio­lence — even against inno­cent third par­ties — by con­vinc­ing them­selves that their actions are jus­ti­fied,” the motion added.
