In a farcical irony, Republican Larry Elder — who’s running to become the first black governor of California — was attacked by a liberal CNN pundit as a “white supremacist.”
Not surprisingly, the knives are coming out just as Elder is surging in the polls ahead of Tuesday’s California recall election, where incumbent Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is on the chopping block.
The latest smear occurred Sunday, when Los Angeles Times columnist Jean Guerrero trashed Elder as a “white supremacist” on Brian Stelter’s poorly-rated CNN show.
“He has been able to reach the minority of voters in California who embrace his white supremacist worldview,” Guerrero said.
