A group representing millions of Indian retailers on Thursday demanded a government investigation of Amazon.com following a Reuters report that accused the online retail behemoth of manipulating search results to privilege its own knockoff brands over Indian retail merchandise.
“Amazon is causing a great disadvantage to the small manufacturers. They are eating the cake that is not meant for them,” Praveen Khandelwal of the Confederation of All India Traders told Reuters on Thursday.
Reuters quoted an Indian official calling for a nationwide boycott of Amazon, and a fiery blog post from a nonprofit called the Alliance of Digital India Foundation (ADIF) that said Amazon’s behavior was “highly deplorable and brings into question the credibility of Amazon as a good faith operator in the …

Conservative lawmakers from Western states unveiled their own
plan to conserve public lands
this month in response to a Biden administration initiative setting a goal for their preservation.

In May, the White House released its
“America the Beautiful” initiative
, which established what it called “the first-ever national conservation goal” of “conserving 30 percent of U.S. lands and waters by 2030.”

An Interior Department
about the president’s initiative said it “specifically emphasizes the notion of ‘conservation’ of the nation’s natural resources (rather than the related but different concept of ‘protection’ or ‘preservation’) recognizing that many uses of our lands and waters, including of working lands, can be consistent with the long-term health and sustainability of natural systems.”

But Republican lawmakers in the Senate and Congressional Western Caucuses called the president’s proposal “ambiguous,” and they said it …

Florida will sue the Biden administration if it implements its employer vaccine mandate and win because the president does not have the authority to issue such a directive, Gov. Ron DeSantis saints.“We’re going to contest that immediately. We think the state of Florida has standing to do it and we also know businesses that we’re going to work with to contest it,” DeSantis said in Fort Myers. “I think the mandate is going to lose in court.”
President Joe Biden on Sept. 9 announced he would issue an executive order mandating companies with 100-plus employees require workers be inoculated or undergo weekly tests to stay on the job.

The French prefecture of Sarthe has closed the mosque of Allonnes after evidence revealed that sermons advocated for armed jihad.
The prefecture announced in a statement issued this week that it would close the mosque, which lies just outside of Le Mans and sees around 300 Muslims attend.
“According to the evidence gathered, sermons and the activity of this place of worship, frequented by individuals belonging to or close to the radical Islamist movement, legitimise the use of armed jihad, death as a martyr, the commission of acts of terrorism, and the use of violence, hatred, and discrimination as well as the establishment of Sharia law,” the prefecture said, Le Parisien reports.
The prefecture also stated that children at a Quranic school housed by the mosque …

Several weeks ago, my family and I visited a familiar camping spot at Lake Anna in Central Virginia.  At the time, the withdrawal in Afghanistan had been announced and was underway, the debate over the infrastructure bill was beginning to take form, and Virginia as a whole became the national battleground for public education.  While sitting around the fire that Saturday night with my family, friends, and our neighboring campers, the sentiment was resounding—“there is an overall lack of leadership and accountability on behalf of Abigail Spanberger, President Biden, and their progressive counterparts in Washington,” and “their views are not aligned with the …

The “future of this country” depends on who is indicted next in special counsel John Durham’s criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation, warned a top House Republican.
Rep. Devin Nunes, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said Thursday that trust in the Justice Department and FBI among conservatives nationwide hangs in the balance.
“The Biden DOJ can let people off if they would like,” the congressman from California said during a Fox News interview, referring to ex-FBI official Andrew McCabe winning back his full pension as part of a settlement with the Justice Department in a wrongful termination lawsuit.
“Durham is still out there,” he said. “For the Department of Justice and the FBI to have any support amongst conservatives or half …

None of the things the Big Government Socialists want to do are free. In a bygone, saner political era, they would be described as what they are: taxpayer funded programs.

By Newt Gingrich

The Big Government Socialists who have taken over the Democratic Party love to talk about “free” programs: Free community college, free childcare, free dental and eye care for Medicare, free public housing, free food stamps, the list goes on.
Don’t fall for it.
Sen. Bernie Sanders’ belief in socialism has now infected virtually the entire elected membership of the Democratic Party in Washington. This infection persists despite daily evidence that big government is not efficient or effective.
At the federal level, consider President Joe Biden’s border catastrophe, his disastrous exit …
