Pres­i­dent Biden wants teach­ers and their col­leagues to receive at lease one dose of a coro­n­avirus vac­cine by the end of March in a union-friend­ly push to reopen schools.
Biden laid out the new time­line on Tues­day as he announced his admin­is­tra­tion would have enough vac­cines to inoc­u­late every adult by the end of May, thanks in part to a deal struck between phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal giant Mer­ck and rival John­son & John­son to ramp up pro­duc­tion of its recent­ly approved one-shot vaccine.
