House Minor­i­ty Leader Kevin McCarthy, R‑Calif., is will­ing to bet his house on the Repub­li­can Par­ty regain­ing con­trol in the 2022 midterm elections. 

“Not [just] a chance, we’re going to get the major­i­ty back,” Rep. McCarthy told Amer­i­can Con­ser­v­a­tive Union Chair­man Matt Schlapp dur­ing a CPAC pan­el dis­cus­sion Sat­ur­day, per The Hill. “We’re five seats away.” 

“I would bet my house” on it, he added. “My per­son­al house. Don’t tell my wife, but I would bet it.”
