Sev­er­al videos post­ed to social media show how Wash­ing­ton, D.C., has been trans­formed into an armed mil­i­tary camp com­plete with check­points and zoned perime­ters where access by the pub­lic is heav­i­ly restricted.

In one, a man who says he’s report­ing to his job site ear­ly Fri­day morn­ing pro­vides images and com­men­tary, show­ing inter­sec­tions manned by mil­i­tary per­son­nel believed to be with the Nation­al Guard, as well as mil­i­tary vehi­cles armed with light- and medi­um-machine guns.
